Frequently
Asked Questions
1.
Why should I have my carpets cleaned? To get the
best possible wear out of your carpets they need to be cleaned
at least once a year.
3.
Somebody told me not to have my carpets cleaned, because
when they did the carpets became dirty very quickly?
This
will only happen when a poor quality carpet cleaner pumps your
carpet full of chemical and does not rinse the solution out. Any
professional carpet cleaner will avoid this problem by extracting
the chemical.
4.
How often should I clean my carpets? Your
carpets should be professionally cleaned every 12 months. When
they are cleaned and maintained correctly the carpet life is extended.
Your carpet will not be damaged if cleaned correctly and on a
regular basis. It is the unseen bacteria, allergens and soils
that cause the damage.
5.
Is it possible to clean carpets too often? No.
Frequent cleaning of the carpet will help to maintain its original
appearance. It is recommended that high traffic areas (doorways,
hallways etc) and areas of heavy soiling are cleaned more frequently
than other areas of lighter use. Remember to vacuum at least once
a week with a good quality vacuum in proper working order.
6.
How soon can I walk on my carpets after cleaning?
With
injection extraction you are best leaving them for a couple of
hours.
7.
What stains will be removed when my carpet is cleaned?
A
spot is a substance that is adhered to the carpet fibre, but has
not become set. A stain is more advanced and may have become set.
A professional carpet cleaner will remove all spots (food, grease,
mud etc). We carry a large amount of stain removal solutions for
the removal of coffee, tea, blood, cola, urine, red wine etc.
8.
Will hot water extraction damage my carpet? No.
Injection extraction is the preferred method of cleaning for most
carpet cleaners, and is recommended by leading carpet manufacturers.
It is considered by many to be the best method of removing embedded
soil and other contaminants.
9.
Will my carpet shrink? Some
carpets are prone to shrinkage, but we will survey this at the
time of your quote and will take steps to prevent it from happening.
10.
Will I have to move my furniture? No.
Although we would appreciate you moving any small items and breakables
out of the room.
